Design, fabricate and launch nylon kites, parachutes and lighter than air craft - with a sewing machine! Boys and girls are introduced to hand and machine sewing, following patterns and create original designs using flight-ready technical fabrics. 3D printing and laser cutting is creating the future of things! Using design skills and 3D modeling software, create virtual objects and “print” them in the real world using an array of MakerBot 3D printers. Guided by professional designers, you'll learn TinkerCad and Inkscape fundamentals, create 2 and 3 dimensional concept drawings, investigate abilities and limitations of 3D printers and laser cutters, and explore occupations that use 3D design and rapid prototyping.
