President's Community-Based Job Training Grants

A grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to the
Community College of Baltimore County

In February 2009, the US Department of Labor awarded CCBC and its partners a three-year Community-Based Job Training (CBJT) Grant to help reduce shortages in selected high-demand health practice areas. The CBJT Grant serves as a catalyst for the partners to educate an increased number of students and to provide upward mobility for incumbent health care employees in the following new and/or expanded certificate and credit programs: Emergency Medical Technician, Household Associate (Continuing Education), Medical Laboratory Technician, Mental Health, Nursing, Radiography and Respiratory Therapy.

AWARD AMOUNT AND TIMEFRAME:

$2,550,170 (February 14, 2009 –September 30, 2012)

AREA SERVED: CCBC student catchment area; Baltimore County healthcare employers
KEY PARTNERS:

Baltimore County Office of Workforce Development and multiple healthcare facilities for clinical training sites
